Why does the online guitar tuner ask to access the microphone?

In order to analyze the sound from your guitar the online tuner must access the microphone.

The application do not store any data from the microphone. No data is recorded or transmitted to the server; the application is run locally on your computer.

Note that the displayed dialogue box is the standard from Adobe Flash Player and it says that the site asks for access to camera and microphone. However the application only uses the microphone. Don´t worry, the online guitar tuner is not accessing your camera. As mentioned above, the application sends nothing to the server or any other third party.

Why can't I click on the allow button?

Firstly be sure that you have downloaded the latest flash version.

Unfortunately, flash player seems to have a bug and is not working properly with all internet browsers. If you can´t click the allow button in the flash window please try another internet browser. This problem is mostly occurring with some versions of Firefox. We are working to resolve this problem.

Why is not the tuner loaded?

Make sure you have the latest Adobe flash player installed..

Furthermore, there is a compatibility problem with flash player and 64-bit operating systems. If you run a 64-bit system the online guitar tuner probably won´t load. Try installing a 32-bit browser and re-install flash player. Follow the instructions here.

The guitar tuner is loaded but is not working properly, why?

Sometimes the tuner is loaded but just "jumping around" and seems not be able to pick up or analyse the sound from your musical instrument. In this case you need to asure that you have the set up the correct settings. Enter the settings menu from the button, which you find down to the right on the guitar tuner. Here you can find a list of all different input sources and choose the appropriate source, ie. either microphone or the line-in. Try also to adjust the microphone sensitivity and noise level. What is a chromatic guitar tuner?

A chromatic tuner is capable to detect all the 12 pitches of the chromatic scale. A musical scale with twelve equally separated pitches is called a chromatic scale. Each step is a semitone, i.e. C to C#.

Which reference pitch is the tuner using?

The reference pitch of the online guitar tuner is A4 with the frequency 440 Hz.
